…then the sky looked down at me and said, “I was wondering when you would look at me again.”

I said nothing. I just lay there looking at her jewelry that went on for eternity.

So rich and infinite and yet she never moved an inch.

Her giant, dimpled pearl neatly in place among her glistening Swarovski gems.

Then one of them swishes past the corner of my right eye.

“I hope you made a wish”, she whispers.

“That one was just for you. Promise me you will not throw it away.”

I feel so small. I nod and clench my eyes closed.

I think deeply and make a wish.
